What to see in Skantzoura?

Skantzoura is a very small island, without any villages, and access is allowed only for study and research purposes. Besides the marine park's seabed and its wild aspect, the island is appreciated for the presence of the old Orthodox monastery which I highlight below:

Monastery of Evanghelistria
Reachable by a steep path in the central part of the island, the old monastery is no longer inhabited but is well maintained and contains Byzantine icons. It belongs to a monastery on Mount Athos and consists of a church and other adjoining buildings. Additionally, there are ruins of an even older monastery on the coast.

Marine Park
The marine park that includes Skantzoura is the largest in the Mediterranean. Here, if you are lucky, you can spot the rare Mediterranean monk seal and dolphins. The area is recommended for snorkeling enthusiasts.
