The best Greek islands for climbing, detailed below, are Kalymnos and Crete, the most frequented, but climbing is also possible in Karpathos and Rhodes.

Kalymnos (Dodecanese)

Kalymnos is the Greek island for climbers par excellence. Climbers from all over the world come to scale the beautiful limestone cliffs of Kalymnos, often overlooking the sea. There are many well-equipped routes (more than 2500), with new ones being added each year. Easy, medium, and difficult routes: there is something for everyone! There are also caves, slabs, and holds of all kinds. The main town is Masouri, from where you can walk to the nearest cliffs; otherwise, a simple scooter is sufficient. The easier climbing spots include Kasteli, Palace, and Telendos, while more challenging ones are Arhi, the Grande Grotta, Odissey, Panorama, and Spartacus.
