Mathraki (from Greek Μαθράκι) is a small island in the Ionian Sea (Otranto Channel) belonging to the small Diapontian archipelago, located northwest of Corfu (4 nautical miles from Aghios Stefanos). It is easily accessible from nearby Corfu.

It has an area of 4 km² and about 100 inhabitants, although most of them leave the island in winter.

Mathraki is very green (cypress and olive trees), hilly, with unspoiled and wild nature. Its highest mountain is only 152 meters (Merovigli). The island offers beautiful long sandy beaches, small natural bays, but also cliffs. The west coast is rugged, while the east coast is lined with a long sandy beach. Its sea is crystal clear, colorful, and has rich seabeds.

Mathraki is a quiet island, certainly not yet developed from a tourism perspective, but precisely for this reason, it is genuine and relaxing. However, it should be noted that dining and services, in general, are very limited. The inhabitants mainly engage in fishing and olive cultivation.

The capital is Kato Mathraki, while the main port is in Plakes, a short distance away.

Mathraki has a panoramic road (almost entirely concrete) that allows access to all the main places on the island, where motor traffic is almost non-existent. There are no buses, but the island is small enough to be explored by scooter (rented in Corfu) or on foot. Additionally, a private individual offers a taxi and taxi-boat service.
