Best beaches of Astypalea

Astypalea abounds in beaches and bays and is a beautiful destination for those who especially love the sea life. Unfortunately, the most beautiful beaches are difficult to reach; it is always better to get there by sea. The island has both pebble and sandy beaches, but natural shade is very rare. The most well-known beaches are located southeast between the capital and the village of Aghios Konstantinos. Here are the main ones starting from Chora and circling the island clockwise.

Pera Gialos
This is the gravel beach of Chora, equipped and with clean sea.

Isolotti di Kounoupi
Located east of the island, opposite Chora, they have beautiful sandy beaches with wonderful sea. Ideal for those who love solitude.

Livadia
A beautiful long sandy beach, very popular, equipped, with clear sea and a beautiful view of the white capital.

Tzanaki
Also reachable on foot (20 minutes) from Livadia, it is a beautiful pebble cove with very clean sea and tranquility.

Aghios Konstantinos
A beautiful beach of sand and pebbles with a lovely view of Chora, natural shade, and fairly frequented.

Kaminakia
A beautiful beach of sand and pebbles, equipped, with very clear and colorful sea. It is better to reach it by sea.

Aghios Ioannis
A beautiful and quiet sandy beach.

Vatses
A sandy beach, very little equipped, wild and remote with a beautiful crystal-clear sea.

Vathy
A quiet beach located inside a long inlet in the north of the island, reachable by a beautiful scenic road.

Analypsi
A sandy beach with natural shade and clear sea.

Maltezana
A renowned sandy beach with several uninhabited islets in front, long, with natural shade, clear and shallow sea.
