Donoussa is appreciated for its beautiful white sandy beaches, crystal-clear blue sea, virgin coves, unspoiled nature, and the tranquility it offers. Being small, it can easily be explored on foot. Below are the main attractions:
Stavros (Chora)
The capital is a small and charming village of white houses adorned with bougainvillea, absolutely tranquil and in pure Cycladic style.
Church of Panaghia
It can be reached from Stavros and is the ideal place to admire the sunset.
Mersini
A beautiful and very panoramic village reachable with a long walk. The farming life of the past is still the order of the day here. Everything is rural and immersed in tranquility. The village has a beautiful potable water source, which is rare in the Small Cyclades that have to be supplied with potable water by tanker ships. Additionally, you can admire a large plane tree.
Sunken Warship
Near the beach of Kendros, you can see a sunken British warship.
Hiking
A trail allows you to tour the island, touching the four villages of Donoussa.
Sea Caves
The sea caves of Fokia Spilia and Spilia Ticos, reachable by sea, were once populated by monk seals.
Festival of Agia Sofia
A sacred festival held on September 17 in Mersini at the potable water source. Besides the procession, there are dances, songs, and food for everyone.
