Best beaches of Schinoussa

The beaches of Schinoussa are beautiful, sandy or pebbly, numerous, and all easily accessible on foot. They are arranged in a radial pattern around Chora, which is almost in the center of the island. Often deserted, the sea is truly beautiful. Here are the main ones, starting from the port and traveling clockwise around the island.

Mersini (Piso Ammos)
A beautiful beach of sand and pebbles, small, sheltered, fairly frequented, with natural shade and crystal-clear sea. Located next to the port, it is reachable on foot in 10 minutes from Chora via a steep road.

Gerolimnionas
A small rocky beach, remote, sunny, with a beautiful clear sea. Reachable with a scenic walk of about 3 kilometers.

Fikio
A beach of pebbles and sand, sunny, with beautiful seabeds and colorful sea. Preferably reachable by sea.

Psili Ammos
A beautiful sandy beach, quiet, with some natural shade and clear blue sea. Reachable on foot in three-quarters of an hour from Chora.

Fountana
A small sandy beach, quiet, with a castle and beautiful sea.

Almiros
A beautiful sandy beach, with some natural shade and very shallow, clear water. Reachable in 20 minutes from Chora and appreciated by windsurfing enthusiasts.

A beautiful sandy beach, small, picturesque, quiet, with natural shade and clear sea.

Gagavi
A small beach, continuation of Aligaria, sunny, with a beautiful sea. Reachable on foot in 20 minutes.

Aligaria
A sandy beach, with natural shade, picturesque, surrounded by rocks, and with a beautiful colorful and clear sea. Reachable on foot in 15 minutes.

Agios Vasilios
