What to see in Serifos?

The island of Serifos is ideal for those who want to relax in nature, take beautiful walks, and enjoy the sun on large and beautiful sandy beaches.

Serifos
The capital is located inland at the top of a very panoramic pointed hill. It is very picturesque, well-maintained, and in pure Cycladic style, with a few windmills. It consists of many white houses with rounded walls, separated by arches, paved alleys, and stairways. There is also a small Archaeological and Folklore Museum. It can be reached from the port by bus or on foot with an hour's walk.

Venetian Castle
The ruins of the castle are located in a very panoramic area near the capital. An excellent place to watch the sunset.

Panagia
A very panoramic village with a beautiful Byzantine church, of the same name, from the 10th century, and the church of Aghios Stefanos with traces of Byzantine frescoes.

Monastery of the Taxiarchs
Located near the village of Galani, it is an impressive white building constructed at the end of the 17th century. The monastery was once a kind of fortified village. Inside, you can admire a beautiful marble floor, frescoes, icons, and wood inlays.

Koutalas
A picturesque fishing village with a beautiful sandy beach and nearby an ancient circular marble tower. In the past, it was a thriving locality because it was located in the island's mining area.

Megalo Livadi
An area used in the past as a port for transporting extracted minerals. You can still see the machinery and extraction structures used.
