How to get to Itaca?

Ithaca is connected to the mainland by ferry lines calling at the port of Vathi or nearby Piso Aetos. The island is linked to Kefalonia (20 minutes), Patras (4โ€“5 hours), Lefkada (1 hour), and Astakos (2 hours). In summer, connections also reach Paxos and Corfu. For those coming from Italy, the direct summer ferry lines to Kefalonia offer the closest connection.

Companies operating include Ionian Ferries, Kefalonian Lines, and others. For booking, refer to directferries.com. Regular bus services also run from Athens, with buses ferried across via Kefalonia.

Ithaca does not have an airport. The closest airports are on Kefalonia and Lefkada/Aktion, both with flights from Athens and seasonal European connections. From there, continue by ferry. For flight booking, visit skyscanner.com.

Connections are much more frequent during the summer season; always check route availability if travelling in other periods.
