What to see in Kalamos?

The island of Kalamos can be visited in a day, starting, for example, from Mytikas on the mainland. It does not have any particular monuments or archaeological sites, but only a few mills. However, it is worth seeing for its very green and somewhat wild landscape, rich in pines, birds, and beautiful beaches with a very clean green sea. Not very touristy, it offers a genuine and relaxing atmosphere. Below are some things to see or do on the island.

Kalamos
The capital is picturesque, consisting of stone houses separated by narrow and winding alleys overlooking the port.

Episkopi
The other village on the island, also with a small port and with an appearance that recalls times past.

Kefali (Porto Leone)
A village abandoned after the earthquake that completely destroyed it in 1953, located in a picturesque and beautiful bay.

Kastro
Located near Episkopi, it shows some parts of its high and beautiful arched walls. It was used for sea sightings.

Walk
A beautiful walk of about 8 km takes about 2 hours from Kalamos to Episkopi through beautiful pine forests.
