Best beaches of Kos

Kos offers many beautiful beaches for sea lovers, both sandy and pebbly, both organized and wild, but always with clear, beautiful sea. The northern coast is a succession of beaches exposed to the winds with shallow, warm, clearer, and bluer sea than the southern coast, which has deeper, cooler, and almost always sheltered sea. Between Kardamena and the city of Kos, there are some natural pools of very hot sulfuric water. Here are the most significant beaches starting from the main port and going around the island clockwise.

Psalidi
A sand and gravel beach, equipped, frequented, windy, with a beautiful crystal-clear sea. Water sports can be practiced.

Agios Fokas
Mainly a gravel beach, quiet, equipped, with a beautiful transparent sea. A good spot for the sunset.

Therma
A small dark gravel beach, equipped, enclosed by high rocks and characterized by the presence of very hot and therapeutic thermal springs that warm the sea water, making it swimmable even out of season.

Kardamena
A large sandy beach, equipped, very frequented, with calm, deep, and transparent sea. A good spot for snorkeling or a boat excursion in the surroundings. Various water sports can be practiced.

Exotic Beach (Xerokambos)
A beach frequented by nudists.

Polemi Golden Beach
A long sandy beach, both equipped and wild, with shallow and transparent sea.

Banana Beach (Lagada)
A sandy beach, partly equipped, picturesque with natural greenery, dunes, and a beautiful transparent sea.

Paradise Beach
A beautiful, long, sandy beach, equipped, frequented, with shallow, transparent, and particularly cold waters. A good spot for diving and snorkeling. Many water sports can be practiced. At the far left of the beach, you can admire a curious volcanic phenomenon characterized by the presence of numerous air bubbles in the sea.

Psilos Gremos
A wide and long sandy beach, partly equipped, with transparent sea and the possibility of practicing some water sports.

Camel Beach (Kamila)
A small sandy and pebbly beach in a rocky area, quiet, picturesque, equipped, not easily reachable on foot but with a beautiful transparent sea. A good spot for snorkeling.

Agios Stefanos
A beautiful sandy and pebbly beach, large, with shallow, blue, and crystal-clear sea. In the area, there are the ruins of some Christian basilicas, and right in front, there is a small islet (reachable by swimming) with a small church with a bell that is rung by those who manage to reach it. The beach is equipped, and various water sports can be practiced.

Kefalos
A long sandy beach, equipped, with shallow and crystal-clear sea.

Kamari
A long sandy and pebbly beach, picturesque, equipped, frequented, with cold but crystal-clear sea. Various water sports can be practiced.

Kavo Paradiso
A beautiful sandy beach among the rocks, small, equipped, quiet, charming, difficult to reach but with a beautiful colored sea.

Agios Theologos
A small sandy and pebbly beach, located among rocks, not easily reachable, with transparent sea. A good spot for the sunset.

Limnionas
A picturesque and small sandy beach, quiet, equipped, with vegetation and rocks, sheltered and with a beautiful crystal-clear sea.

Mastichari
A beautiful long sandy beach, equipped, with natural greenery, shallow, colored, and very clear sea. A departure point for the islands of Kalymnos and Pserimos (from the small port), excellent for watching the sunset and for practicing water sports (particularly windsurfing).

Marmari
A sandy beach with dunes, very wide and long, equipped, with shallow, blue, and transparent sea. Various water sports can be practiced.

Tigaki
A beautiful, very long sandy beach, equipped, frequented, with natural shade and a beautiful shallow and transparent sea. Various water sports can be practiced.

Lambi
A long sandy beach, equipped, crowded, with natural shade and shallow, clean sea. Water sports can be practiced.
