As in all Greek islands, the main accommodations for vacations are studios, which are small apartments (often one-bedroom or two-bedroom) equipped with a kitchenette, bedroom, and bathroom, usually family-run and often reasonably priced. The managers of the studios are generally very helpful and friendly, as are the residents, and they provide affordable accommodation that is suitable for the typical needs of a vacation on a Greek island.
The island of Kos is very touristy, so you can find all kinds of accommodation in hotel s, residences, and resorts, but the only existing campsite in Psalidi has been closed.

Depending on your needs, you can choose to stay in Kos Town or on a beautiful sandy beach. The island is not excessively large, the road network is good, and public transportation is widespread. Due to its layout, cycling can also be a nice and traditional way to visit Kos. The centers offering the best accommodation solutions are Kos Town, Kefalos, Kardamena, Tigaki, and Mastichari.
Kos Town
The capital of Kos, always lively and festive, is highly appreciated by young people for its nightlife, but also by lovers of archaeological sites and places rich in history. Very close to Turkey, it is a cosmopolitan place with excellent accommodation options. The only drawback is that the beaches are very crowded and not among the best on Kos. To explore the island, the city offers several public transport connections.
