The beaches on the northwest coast of Rhodes are pebbly and exposed to the winds, while those on the southeast coast are long stretches of white sand, less windy as they are sheltered by the mountains and also less crowded. Below is a list of the main ones, starting from Rhodes and going clockwise around the island.
Kalithea
A very popular beach, immersed in greenery, both sandy and pebbly, equipped, bordered by rocks (also underwater), with a very beautiful, blue, and crystal-clear sea.
Faliraki
A beautiful, very long sandy beach, well-equipped, very crowded, with clear, blue, and shallow water. Many water sports can be practiced here.
Traganou
A wild, pebbly beach, large, only partially equipped, bordered by cliffs with a beautiful, shallow, crystal-clear blue sea.
Ladiko (Anthony Quinn Beach)
A beautiful beach with rocks, small, sandy, and pebbly in the middle of greenery, equipped, with a very transparent sea.
Afandou
A large beach, both sandy and pebbly, only partially equipped and not particularly crowded, with a transparent and deep sea ideal for windsurfing on windy days.
Tsambika
One of the most beautiful beaches in Rhodes, backed by rocky promontories, large, sandy, equipped, long with shallow, crystal-clear, and very blue water. Various water sports can be practiced here. There is also a beautiful Byzantine monastery in the area, very panoramic and reachable by a staircase of almost 300 steps.
Stegna
A sandy beach, not very crowded, equipped, with shallow, transparent, and blue water.
Agathi
A beautiful beach located in a picturesque cove among the mountains, sandy, equipped, sheltered, with shallow and crystal-clear water. Water sports can be practiced here.
Kalathos
A large sandy beach, somewhat wild and little frequented, only partially equipped, with shallow, clear, and blue water.
Vlycha
A very large and beautiful beach of pebbles and sand, not very crowded, situated in a beautiful scenic environment with turquoise, transparent, and shallow water.
Lindos
One of the most beautiful and famous beaches in Greece, sandy, overlooked by the village of Lindos and its acropolis, equipped, crowded, with shallow, turquoise, and crystal-clear water, ideal for families. All kinds of water sports can be practiced here.
Lardos
A beach with beautiful fine sand, not crowded, only equipped in some points, very long, with beautiful blue, shallow, and transparent water.
Pefki
A long, sandy beach, very touristy, with shallow, transparent, and blue water.
Kiotari
A beautiful, equipped, very long beach of sand and pebbles, with calm and warm water.
Gennadi
A very long beach of sand and gravel, partially equipped, renowned for beach parties.
Plimiri
A long, sandy, protected beach with dunes, beautiful natural shade, very quiet, and not very equipped.
Prassonissi
Located at the southern tip of the island, it is one of the favorite destinations for surfing, windsurfing, or kitesurfing, especially in July and August when the Meltemi wind blows strong. The beach is equipped, large, sandy, and formed by two coves facing an island reachable on foot. The surrounding environment is beautiful, as is its truly crystal-clear sea.
Fourni
A somewhat wild, tranquil beach of sand and pebbles, equipped, located in an environment rich in rocks, vegetation, caves, and coves.
Trianta
A long, sandy, and pebbly beach, very popular because it is close to the capital and very well equipped. Various water sports can be practiced here.
