Telendos (from Greek Τέλενδος) is a small island in the Dodecanese located west of Kalymnos (900 meters away), from which it separated in the 6th century AD due to a violent earthquake.

It has an area of 5 km² and a population of about 40 inhabitants.

The island is barren and has the appearance of a huge rock: it is essentially constituted by an imposing mountain (Rakis, 458 meters). Only to the south is there a small, relatively flat promontory where the island's only village has developed. Since there is no possibility to cultivate the land (even the water is brought by sea from Kalymnos), the inhabitants live mainly from fishing, craftsmanship (weaving), and tourism. Various daily trips bring tourists to Telendos, especially during the high season, starting from the small port of Myrties on the island of Kalymnos. Besides swimming, tourism is also attracted by the beautiful rock climbing opportunities.

The only village on the island is called Telendos, where the port is also located.

There are no vehicles on the island. To move from one place to another, people walk along the paths that cross it.
