How to get to Hydra?

Hydra is connected by ferries and hydrofoils from the port of Piraeus (1 hour 10 minutes – 3 hours). During high season, especially on weekends, it is advisable to book in advance as the island gets very busy. Hydra is also accessible from Ermioni (20 minutes – 1 hour), Porto Heli (1 hour), and Methana (2 hours) on the Peloponnese, as well as from other Saronic Gulf islands: Poros (30 minutes – 1 hour), Spetses (30 minutes – 1 hour), and Aegina (2 hours 30 minutes).

The main operating company is Hellenic Seaways. For booking, refer to directferries.com.

Hydra does not have an airport. The closest is Athens International Airport (Eleftherios Venizelos), well connected to destinations across Europe and beyond. For flight booking, visit skyscanner.com.

Sea connections are more frequent during the summer season; always check route availability if travelling in other periods.
