One can choose to vacation in Skopelos both for entertainment and social life, as well as for the desire for tranquility and relaxation. Its sea is transparent, the beaches are beautiful albeit not very sandy, greenery is everywhere, and entertainment is abundant. The beauty of the architecture of its towns and various monasteries or churches completes the landscape. Below are the main things worth seeing.
Chora
This is the name of the capital of Skopelos (and many other islands), characterized by its narrow streets winding between very white houses occasionally highlighted with a bit of blue, ochre, or red. It has over 100 churches and a castle perched on a hill but also offers many restaurants and nightclubs. It is considered one of the most beautiful locations in the Aegean.
Evangelistria Monastery
Located about 4km from Chora, it is a very panoramic corner of peace overlooking the city and the port.
Glossa
Located north of the island on a hill, about 30 km from Chora, it is, like the capital, very beautiful and characteristic. It is surrounded by olive trees, and its white houses are characterized by wooden balconies. Its inhabitants still preserve some old traditions and costumes.
Trypiti Sea Cave
Located north of Chora in the Glysteri area, about half an hour away by sea, it is a beautiful destination for snorkeling enthusiasts.
