The island of Kimolos is ideal for those who want to relax in nature with an atmosphere of old-time Greece, before tourism was known. Its sea is very beautiful, and if one gets tired of the calm and tranquility of the island, Milos is very close. Below are the main attractions of the island.
Kimolos (Chora)
The capital is located 1 kilometer inland, on a hill, and has the typical charm of Cycladic villages with white houses and a maze of paved streets surrounded by flowers. Chora consists of two parts, the old and the new, and you can admire some ancient churches, a small folklore museum, and the ruins of a Venetian castle. Kimolos is a truly Greek and little-touristy village.
Prassa
This is the area where gypsum was extracted and where radioactive springs exist.
Vromolimni
Beautiful cave on the sea, in the north of the island.
Necropolis of Ellenika
Located near the beach of Koftou, when the sea is calm, you can admire the remains of ancient Kimolos a few meters below the sea level.
Islet of Polyaigos
Boat excursion to the islet of Polyaigos, used as pasture, with its wild beaches, beautiful sea, and high cliffs.
Islet of Aghios Georgios
Beautiful boat excursion.
