How to get to Patmos?

Patmos is accessible only by sea. Ferry lines operate from Piraeus (7–8 hours), nearby Lipsi (20 minutes), and all the main Dodecanese islands: Kos (just over 2 hours), Kalymnos (1.5 hours), Leros (about 1 hour), Symi (4 hours), Samos (1 hour by hydrofoil), and Rhodes (4–6.5 hours). Some Cyclades connections are also available (e.g. Syros: 4 hours). Fast catamarans serve the island in addition to standard ferries. Most ferries make stops at major islands along the route.

The main ferry companies are Hellenic Seaways, Dodekanisos Seaways, Blue Star Ferries, and A.N.E. Kalymnou. For booking, refer to directferries.com.

Patmos does not have an airport. The easiest way to reach it is to fly to Kos or Samos (both connected to Athens and many European cities) and then continue by sea.

Sea connections are much more frequent during the summer season; always check availability if travelling in other periods.
