Symi's beaches are numerous, beautiful, small, and rarely sandy, making the sea crystal clear and perfect for snorkeling. Here are the main beaches, starting from the port and going clockwise around the island.
Agia Marina
An equipped beach with shallow, azure water ideal for snorkeling. It can also be reached on foot. In front of the beach, there is an islet with a chapel that adds to the scenic view.
Pedi
A beautiful sandy and pebbly beach, popular, equipped, and with clear water suitable for snorkeling. It can be reached both on foot and by bus.
Agios Nikolaos
A beautiful sandy and pebbly beach, equipped, with natural shade, shallow, and clear water. It can also be reached on foot.
Agios Georgios
A picturesque, wild, pebbly beach, with a spectacular 300-meter-high vertical rock wall behind it, natural shade, and crystal-clear water. It can only be reached by sea.
Nanou
A pebbly beach, equipped, with natural shade and clear water suitable for snorkeling. It can also be reached on foot in about 45 minutes.
Marathounta
A pebbly beach, with natural shade, tranquil, equipped, and with clear water. It can be reached by road (minibus stop).
Faneromeni
A beautiful light sandy beach between cliffs with clear water. It can be reached on foot from Panormitis in 20 minutes.
Panormitis
A pebbly beach frequented by visitors to the monastery, sheltered, and with beautiful water. It can also be reached by road.
Agios Vassilios
A beautiful sandy and light pebbly beach, tranquil, surrounded by mountains, with natural shade provided by many cypresses, and crystal-clear water. It can also be reached on foot with a long walk of about 2 hours.
Agios Emilianos
A picturesque beach with an islet and church connected to the mainland by a small stone pier, tranquil, and with crystal-clear water. It can be reached on foot but with a long walk (better by sea).
