Best beaches of Thassos

When it comes to the beaches of Thassos, you are spoiled for choice: long sandy beaches, romantic bays, natural harbors, and always a beautiful sea with crystal-clear waters. Below are the most renowned beaches starting from the capital and imagining traveling around the island clockwise.

Makryammos
The long beach of Makryammos is paid because it is located within a tourist village. The sea is very shallow, with very fine sand and very clear water. On the left, there is a pier made with marble breakwaters, and on the right, a somewhat difficult walk over the rocks leads to a small pine-covered island, reachable by wading, from which you can see the panorama towards the beach and the marble quarries further south. The beach is also equipped for water sports.

Marble Beach (Saliara)
A beautiful but very crowded beach made of white marble sand and pebbles (from the nearby quarry), reachable by a somewhat difficult dirt road. If the sea is not stirred by the waves, it is particularly blue.

Khrysi Ammoudia
Very shallow sea and long crowded beach. Behind it, there is dense vegetation that almost reaches the sea and offers a view of Mount Ypsarion.

Chrysi Akti
Tourist center with a sandy beach.

Kinyra
Very beautiful sea, especially in the southernmost beach and the rocky area. The beach is pebbly, and it is difficult to plant an umbrella, but the seabed is sandy and shallow. Few people and a somewhat wild environment. In front, there is an island.

Angelous Beach
This beach is located just below the nuns' monastery. It is sandy, but there are stones in the sea for the first few meters and offers a view of the monastery on the left. The water is very beautiful, and on the left, there is another beach reachable by swimming, also with very beautiful water.

Psili Ammos
Near Astris, it is a beautiful beach with fine sand but very crowded. Equipped for water sports.
