Foreign divers must possess a diploma or certification for diving, and any equipment brought from home must be declared upon entering Greece. Before diving, permission must be obtained from the port authorities, and basic safety rules must be followed during the diving.
The best months for diving in the Greek islands are the summer months, from June to September, when the water temperature can range from 16° to 23°. Generally, the sea is very clear, offering good visibility, and diving centers are widespread.
