How to get to Koufonissi?

Koufonissi is one of the Small Cyclades, accessible only by sea. The main connection is from nearby Naxos (2.5 hours by ferry, 30 minutes by hydrofoil). The island can also be reached from Mykonos (1.5 hours), Santorini (2–3 hours), Amorgos, Paros, Milos, Folegandros, and the other Small Cyclades: Iraklia (50 minutes), Schinoussa (30 minutes). From Piraeus, the ferry takes 5–7 hours; from Rafina, about 3 hours 50 minutes. In summer, catamarans are also available.

Among the ferry companies operating are Blue Star Ferries, Sea Jets, Hellenic Seaways, and Express Skopelitis (connecting Naxos to Amorgos via the Small Cyclades). For booking, refer to directferries.com.

The island does not have an airport. The fastest route is to fly to Naxos (domestic flights from Athens), Mykonos, or Paros (European connections in summer) and continue by ferry. In high season, book tickets in advance.

Sea connections are much more frequent during the summer season; always check availability if travelling in other periods.
