Best beaches of Milos

The island of Milos has many beaches, almost always sandy or with beautiful colored pebbles. Some have colorful volcanic rock cliffs behind them, others are milky white, and still others are nestled between caves and fascinating crevices. Not all are accessible by land, so there are various daily boat trips to reach them. The most sheltered beaches from the wind are on the south coast and inside the bay. The beaches on the north coast are very windy. Below I describe the main ones starting from the port of Adamas and ideally traveling around the island clockwise.

Lagada
Sandy beach with blue sea, located right behind the port of Adamas.

Fourkovouni
Small sandy beach with some "syrmata".

Plathiena
Sandy beach, equipped, sheltered, suitable for children.

Firopotamos
Small sandy beach, with natural shade, very clear water, and set in a beautiful rocky environment.

Mandrakia
Suggestive beach due to the presence of many "syrmata".

Sarakiniko
Small beach nestled among wonderful white cliffs, smoothed by wind and sea.

Mitakas
Sandy beach, equipped, windy, and with crystal clear sea.

Ag. Konstantinos
Beach with "syrmata" and caves, clear sea.

Papafragas
Beach accessible by a path and known as the pirate cave, blue sea and high rocks.

Pollonia
Sandy beach, with natural shade, ideal for children and with shallow sea.

Voudia
Large beach with colorful pebbles, little frequented, and with crystal clear sea. It is located in the quarry area frequented by trucks.

Tria Pigadia
Beach with pebbles and colorful rocks with blue sea. It is quite difficult to reach due to the many paths that branch out in the area. Coming from Pollonia, you need to turn left towards Ag. Petros and then in the large square with a dumpster in the center, turn left and continue to the sea.

Paleochori
Large sandy and pebbly beach, equipped, with colorful cliffs and sulfur emissions in the seabed and clear sea.

Ag. Kyriaki
Beautiful sandy beach, with crystal clear and very blue sea.

Tsigrado
Beautiful but small sandy beach, quite frequented, nestled between rocks, with very clear and colorful sea. It is not recommended for families with small children and people with mobility difficulties because it is reached (with comfortable shoes) by descending a narrow canyon holding onto a rope until reaching a wooden ladder positioned on the beach.

Firiplaka
Large sandy beach, quite frequented, surrounded by high colorful rocks and with a beautiful blue sea.

Provatas
Beautiful sandy beach, equipped, with shallow and colorful sea. In the area there are other beautiful smaller beaches.

Gerontas
Beach with black sand and a large and beautiful arch-shaped rock. To reach it, you need to travel along the rough dirt road in the west of the island and then continue on foot for 10 minutes along a path.

Kleftiko
Beautiful cliffs with very clear and blue sea. Only accessible by sea, usually with an organized tour.

Sikia
Beautiful white cave with emerald green water. Preferably reachable by sea, usually with an organized tour. By land, it requires about a two-hour walk starting from the Monastery of Ag. Ioannis.

Ag. Ioannis
Composed of three sandy beaches, quiet, and with blue sea.

Amoudaraki, Triades
Consisting of many small sandy and very quiet beaches.

Ag. Dimitrios
Beach with stones, with a small church by the sea. Difficult to reach by land, it is a good place for swimming at sunset.

Rivari
Sandy beach, quiet, with a panoramic view of Plaka and Adamas.

Achivadolimni
Large sandy beach, ideal only on windless days, with shallow and clear sea.

Papinikou
Sandy beach, quite sheltered, with natural shade and very close to Adamas.
