Milos (from the Greek Μήλος) is an island of volcanic origin belonging to the Cyclades, located in the southwestern part of the archipelago.

It covers an area of 160 km² and is populated by about 6000 inhabitants.

In the northeastern part of the island, the main inhabited centers are located, while the western area is largely uninhabited, as it is not very accessible.

A recommended destination for sea lovers, it offers countless beaches and landscapes for all tastes: lunar landscapes, sulfur emissions, colorful pebbles, caves, and high cliffs overlooking the sea.

Thanks to its volcanic origin, Milos is rich in minerals and boasts the oldest mines in the entire Mediterranean. The rocks are masterpieces, the colored stones are beautiful, giving the environment an almost surreal atmosphere.

Milos was one of the first Cycladic islands to be inhabited, as evidenced by numerous remains that testify to its history. It is known worldwide for the discovery of the Venus de Milo, now exhibited at the Louvre in Paris.

The capital of the island is Plaka, while the main port is in Adamas.

The road network on the island is good, and it is possible to rent cars or scooters. There is both a taxi service and a bus service that connects the various villages and main beaches. However, in the western part of the island, it is prohibited to transit with cars or scooters (except for cross motorcycles, quads, or jeeps) because the dirt roads are very rough.
