How to get to Gavdos?

Gavdos, Europe's southernmost island, is not easily accessible. It can be reached by ferry from Crete, specifically from the ports of Paleochora (4.5 hours) and Chora Sfakion (3.5 hours). The stretch of sea can be rough and ferries may be cancelled due to weather conditions. Sailings are not very frequent, so plan accordingly.

The ferry company providing connections is Anendyk. For booking, refer to anendyk.gr.

To reach Gavdos, first get to Crete. The nearest airport is Chania, which has direct flights from Athens and many European cities (especially in summer). From Chania, travel to Paleochora or Chora Sfakion by bus or car.

Connections are much more frequent during the summer season; always check availability if travelling in other periods.
